Design Build Measure package 5 — Discrete Op-amp
-
Lab 5 analysis, simulation, and measurements
1. Introduction
- Goal
-
-
Continued practice predicting the DC operating point of a transistor circuit, and matching to the as-built measurements.
-
Using simulators to support hand calculations and circuit verification.
-
Practice using superposition to separately model the DC error sources of an op-amp.
-
- Objectives
-
-
Construct a 3-stage operational amplifier from discrete components.
-
Measure the DC and low-frequency characteristics of the amplifier.
-
2. Elements
-
Documentation of the requested measurements for the three separate circuit configurations of Figure 4.
-
Calculations showing the estimated internal error source values of your circuit, Vos, Ib+, Ib-.
-
Description of, calculations for, and measurements verifying your op-amp circuit showing a small-signal system gain of +10 V/V.
3. Submission
This documentation should be organized by interleaving text, figures, photographs, schematics, and mathematical calculations. The reader must be able to read what is submitted without being forced to refer back to the Lab 5 page side-by-side to understand what is going on.
Submit a single file of the report in PDF format.
